    Default Renault Orihuela

    Has anyone else had any trouble with a repair job done here and how did you resolve it.. It seems the garage has denied not putting parts back on our car that should be there and unfortunately as we were on holiday, dont speak Spanish and only found engine cowlings etc missing and a couple of personal items also missing from car when we got back to France we are a little stuck. It was bad enough anyway over 2 weeks to do 5 hours work resulting in having to stay an extra week and 800.00+ euros for replacing a catalyst . We have contacted Renault Customer Services Head Office in Spain and still getting nowhere even the customer services in England cant understand their attitude and recommend suing. Does anyone know of any good solicitors who can work on our behalf

    That is really bad, no I can't say I've encountered any problems myself but then again regardless of where you are there are always Cowboys (I've been ripped off in the UK before now).

    I'd contact Renault Customer Services in Spain again, but this time in writing and if they don't respond escalate it to EMEA HO ;-)

    Do you mean the Renault garage on the road between Orihuela City and Almoradi, near the Vega Baja Hospital.. If so, I have used that garage for repairs and services for seven years and never had a problem. I found them very helpful, and when I made an appointment to have work done, it was always done while I waited.

    Sorry cant reply on original post as only a guest. It was the main Renault Garage think it was Orihuela Alicante just off a dual carriageway. The price was a lot for the work they did but that was the cost of the catalyst available in UK for appro £150 in Spain approx £500.00. We told them we were returning on the Thursday 30th Dec. the car wasnt ready until Monday 3rd Jan despite being told it would be. by which time they had had the car since Monday 21st December. Yes we know it was Xmas Hols but they only closed on 1 day and weekends so had the car for 10 working days to do 5 hours work 2 of which were the diagnostic done the first week and the other 3 hours done later. Then to find they had not replaced the engine cowlings as well as lost our Alis Tag for the motorway and my spare Varifocal glasses (they had been thro the car searching for wheel nut removers which we know because the Assurance Company eventually rang and asked where they were and everything in the car had been re-arranged.) My husband had removed the top cowling himself and left in the car together with the nuts they had taken it out and disposed of it. They had removed the bottom cowling and disposed of that as well. This was the pits and not discovered until our return from Spain. All I can say is check everything over before and after at the garage and do not remove your car until sure it is correct as the guarantee stands for nothing. Solicitor now contacted and hopefully can help us get the Cowlings sent to us for replacement in France.

    I don't think that is the garage I use..I hope everything works out for you. As you say, it is always wise to check everything thoroughly when collecting the car, and don't leave any personal belongings in the car when it is going to be kept overnight or longer.
