There is one at the sports centre in Guardamar del Segura. You said you were arriving on 5th Jan. That is the day of our three kings parade. I will be on duty in Rojales for that. It starts at about 6pm (Spanish time) PM me if you wish to meet up.

I'd like that, CD. We leave on the 4th and staying the first night at the French side of the border. We are bringing our new cat with us and it was difficult to find a hotel that allowed pets on the Spanish route. We will attempt to arrive at the villa sometime before the parades all start. We intend to purchase a new sim card on the 6th. Let me have your phone no and I'll give you a ring as soon as the mobile is fixed. It'l be a pleasure to buy you a drink for your help.

Jacklynn, I have sent you a message on how to get to your destination from Rojales. Let me know how you will be getting to Rojales, I may be able to help with that as well.
Don't worry, there are no anti france people here. CD |

Thanks CD, Anti French people bother me not one bit, you almost get used to brainless jerks after living abroad for a great deal of your life, however most of the people we associate with are nice, commonsense down to earth practical people, such as yourself and some of the other members of this helpful forum.
I'm very impressed with the running and organising of this forum, and the help and assistance which has been forthcoming so far. It's far superior to a lot of others I've been on Our route from southern France will have to be decided after 7am Mon morning as it has just started to snow here. if it clears, we come via Pamplona, Zaragoza, Alicante and approach Rojales via the coast road. Either way I will contact you by mobile as soon as I can purchase a Sim Card |

No snow here, dry warm and sunny. A bit chilly early morning and evenings, but great midday till the sun goes down. I have PM'd you with directions from the N332 coast road.
I've just remembered the Orihuela Road is a main road, but not dual carriageway. CD Last edited by CDThader; 03-01-2010 at 20:53. |

Jacklynn, I don't know if you've seen the weather forecast. It shows rain virtually everywhere in Spain on Monday, and some parts on tuesday (including ours)

CD. Temperature here is 1/2 degree but the snow is melting. Weather forecast shows a deteriation for the next 14 days over the whole of europe, so we will have a run at it later in the morning. We use the free motorway that runs from Poitier to Biarritz via Bordeaux. The Bordeaux by-pass is very bad for traffic just before meal times as nearly all the lorry traffic from Spain & Portugal use this route, outside of this problem the roads are really decent as they have stopped the heavy lorries from overtaking for long stretches of the carriageway.
Just heard the news that Britain is expecting the coldest winter for 30 years over the next few days, this bad weather is expected to reach the Costa's |
