Default Housing Problems

What is the solution to the ongoing problem of demolishing quality housing, owned by Brits in Spain.
The 'Mail on Line' today (30th Dec) states that 12 Brit households in the area were served with demolition orders on 22nd Dec,
What a way to celebrate Xmas,
At the time of writing, 97 letters to the paper, mainly from Brits in Spain, condemned the action and are apparently going to fight the proposed demolition with rigorous action.
Is there a vendetta being waged against Brits who retire to the Costa's?. It' seems very unfair as most of the people affected by this course of action are retired and vulnerable people.

Default Spanish as well I am afraid

The spanish are effected as well but this is not printed as often in the U.K papers. However many of these propertys were aimed at expats either as holiday or retirement homes and my heart goes out to these people. Unfortunately for the people involved there are not enough to exert political pressure on a national scale.
