Default Looking to meet new people

I have a friend who has moved to the Guardamar/Torrevieja area. She is on her own and would like to meet new people but is finding it difficult. Another friend suggested the group University of the Third Age, which got me thinking is there any list either internet based or the newspapers/magazines that has lists of groups/associations meetings? Or any other ideas greatly appreciated. many thanks Ali

alig99 Guardamar/Torrevieja covers a very large area. Can you be a bit more specific about where she is. There are many English language free newspapers which have lists of clubs, charities and other organisations.. On line are Coastrider and the leader. If you look at them it will give you some idea of whats available.
