A new public service linking Alicante city via the airport with the south of the province is apparently in the planning stage. The service is to be called La Via Express, and will run alongside the N332 to Torrevieja at first, stopping in Santa Pola, La Marina, Guardamar La Mata and Torrevieja City. If a success it will be extended to include Orihuela Costa, and possibly into Murcia province to include Murcia (San Javier) airport.. Then who knows. I am not sure of the mode of transport, as it's in Spanish, and states 75 Kilometros de via con guiado optico...Anyone assist as to whether that means train, bus or tram?
Whatever, if it comes off it will be most welcome, although there is a lot of work to be done... I could never work out why the Cartagena-Alicante bus doesn't include the two airports that it passes. It will take a bit longer, but would carry many more passengers, and could be more frequent. [url]www.redaccion@eltorrevieja.es
