Yes, I do appreciate what you're saying! Barcelona is certainly frantic. Let me have a think about what to suggest. I have just heard about a village house from someone I know but it's quite far north, near the French border.

Amazing - my sons are in Melbourne now but are heading back to Europe in a few days. One has been there for a year on a working holiday, the other on holiday for six weeks.

The French border isn't that far from Barcelona is it? 70-100km or so? Or am I completely off the mark? If we had a car and a license that wouldn't be too far for us. Maybe a bit far if my wife has to commute every day but otherwise it's not that far. I mean compared to here. The distances here in Australia is insane compared to Europe.
