Default New in Barcelona

Hello.

Greetings from Wismar.
I'll be having my internship in Barcelona for 6 months starting August 2009.

I'm still currently doing research about Barcelona during my free time. And I have some doubts that you might be able to help me to answer:

1. What about transportation in Barcelona? How much do I have to pay for the metro/bus tickets? DO they have seasonal ticket/card for transportation in Barcelona?

2. What do you think I have to prepare myself moving to Barcelona in a short time? What are the essential things that I need to know?

Thanks all in advance. Hope to see some replies.

cheers!

Good evening, I have sent you a link with current info on the metro and ticket types.

What do you need to know ? Hmmm telling us some more about your stay might be helpful.

I'm currently still searching for a room. I have a reply from the owner of an apartment in Hospitalet. And for your information, my office will be in Calle Caspe.
She told me it takes around 20 minutes from the apartment to the office by metro. But I'm not sure on which metro station the office is.

I think I will have to spend my time in studying a bit more about Barcelona after my exams and then I'll get more familiar to it.

Hospitalet is "far away" from the center... There are not so expensive places, also in the city! Calle Caspe is just off Plaza Catalunya and Paseo de Gracia.

Check Calle Caspe on Google Maps

This may be true, but don't forget to add time to walk to metro station in Hospitalet and from metro in Barcelona, to your office....

Do you mean that Hospitalet is outskirt Barcelona?

And i have one question, how do i define Barcelona in zones as I see in the ticket prices, as the prices are different for each zone..

thanks a million....

Yes Hospitalet is not central Barcelona.

On TMB - Portal you can insert the address from and to of your journey and it will calculate walking time plus travel time. Also you can calculate cost.
