I'll be studying at ESADE and I'm trying to find an apartment. I found a big studio just few minutes away from ESADE but I think it's over-priced...slightly over 1000 Euro not including utlities. Is that the norm? overpriced? And aside of its being upscale, is it a good place to live at (restaurants, supermarkets...etc)? |

Hi Sleepless,
The 1000€ for an apartment in that area is surely the norm. That is the "expensive" part of town... Where exactly is this apartment? As for restaurants and supermarkets, that place is pretty dead.... Not 10% of what you have on offer in other areas of town...

Thanks greg...not good news though. the address is Torrent de les Roses. I really had a hard time figuring out where to stay...I'm trying to find an apartment that is cheaper, not in a very touristic area but not as dead as pedralbes...a safe and not to far from ESADE at the same time!!
any advices? |

Wow that is way far way from everything... You will spend a fortune on public transport and taxis if you want to go into the city everyday from up there!
Generally speaking, anything above the street Avenida Diagonal is more expensive than below. And anything close to the main arteries (Paseo de Gracia, Rambla Catalunya, Enrique Granados, etc.) is expensive too. Les Corts district is close to ESADE and definitely much cheaper. I know many students who live around there.. Plaza Maria Cristina area... Also you will find the Eixample (left) cheaper. For 1000€ you can get a decent 2 bed apartment. I even have a friend who pays 1000€ for a luxury 1 bed apartment on Paseo de Gracia... So it's all just about how hard you look.

I agree with gregg, i was studing also first year in ESADE and i shared apartment with another students in Les Corts area. You can walk to av.pedralbes it's 15-20 minutes or metro/buses also available.. Best option is to share nice apartment with other students. DAN |
