Hi there again Velina

Forgot to mention - re surrounding little towns. The nearest town to the UAB is Cerdanyola - lots of students share flats there. Very pleasant place. Sabadell is also a possibility - quite a big town. There is direct transport to the campus from there. The FCG train I mentioned in my first post also stops right by the main square of the campus.

Hi Valerie,

Once again, thanks for your response. I have read for Gracia as well so sounds like a good place to investigate for possibilities
If anyone is renting a room or is looking for a roommate, I'd be happy if you write me.
I am open for questions and suggestions!

Que tengan un buen dia!

Yes, definitely. But bear in mind that the Eixample is quite extensive, and the closer you get to Provença station, the more expensive it tends to be - assuming you want to be within walking distance of the FCG station. The changeover with the metro at Provença/Diagonal is a huge mess at the moment.

Hi velina
UAB University isn't in Barcelona. Is about 20 miles. In a town called Bellaterra. I will advise you to look for something near the university.

Wow, what an open-ended question! Poble Nou is probably more affordable and authentic, but a longer Metro ride. If you look here, I'd suggest staying not far from a station. Gracia also is less touristy and has many housing options. Again, if you have to commute somewhere (university, etc.) living within a few blocks of the station will be more pleasant. Poble Nou has the added benefit of being nearer the beaches. (Not necessarily near; there is little affordable housing adjacent to the beachfront, but you can find things within a few blocks, which also puts you closer to the Metro.)
